Jocelyn Gumirrmirr

Garrawurra woman Jocelyn Gumirrmirr was taught painting by her family during the�?arra�cleansing ceremony, in which clan designs are used as body embellishment.

The three colours used for art production by the Liyagawumirr Garrawurra clan are associated with the ancestral�Djan’kawu�Sisters who travelled through north east Arnhem Land creating spring water, country, languages, clans and culture amongst Yol?u people.

Jocelyn often lives in Galiwin’ku (Elcho island) and is represented by both Elcho Island Arts and Milingimbi Art and Culture.
