Engawala Art Centre

Dianne Neil was born in the Aboriginal community of Santa Teresa and now lives at Engawala, where she has strong family connections and continues to paint alongside other local artists.
Dianne began painting in her late twenties learning by sitting with her sisters, all of whom are artists, sharing stories and developing their skills together. Working mainly with acrylic on canvas, Dianne has grown her own style while staying connected to the cultural teachings passed down through her family, she also likes to experiment with pottery and jewellery making.
Much of her inspiration comes from her grandmother’s Dreaming. Her work reflects the strength of Central Desert culture and the importance of keeping these stories alive.
