Freda Teamay

Freda Teamay is an artist based in Mutitjulu, known for her connection to her father, the prolific artist Malya Teamay. She continues her artistic practice by painting her father’s stories, particularly focusing on the Kungkarangkalpa (Seven Sisters Tjukurpa) and Broken Lore narratives. These stories hold significant cultural and spiritual value and have been passed down to Freda, who acts as a custodian, keeping them alive through her artwork.

In addition to her work on these traditional stories, Freda also explores the Kuniya and Liru Tjukurpa, which are connected to her homeland within Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. These stories are central to her cultural identity and are reflected in her artistic expressions.
