Jaiden Wilson

Jaiden Wilson, born in 2001 in Kununurra, is an emerging artist whose work draws deeply from her cultural heritage and the land that has shaped her identity. The daughter of Tennant Creek man Jimmy Wilson and Gija artist Kathy Ramsay, Jaiden grew up at Bow River Station, surrounded by the landscapes and stories that form the heart of her Gija ancestry. Raised alongside three brothers and three sisters, Jaiden was immersed in a family environment rich with cultural teachings, which continues to guide her artistic journey.

Now based in Warmun, Jaiden frequently returns to her ancestral Country on weekends to go fishing, a practice that strengthens her connection to the land and its traditional ways. This connection to Bow River Country is a driving force behind Jaiden’s artistic practice, shaping the vibrant landscapes and cultural narratives that define her work. Guided by the stories and teachings of her mother, Kathy, Jaiden’s art is a tribute to her heritage, embodying the spiritual significance of the land and its people.
