Sheena Dodd
Mimili Maku ArtsSheena Dodd (*1966) is a Pitjantjatjara artist who lives and works in Mimili Community on the APY Lands. Coming from a family deeply involved in land management, Sheena’s paintings celebrate the birds and plants of Country and the knowledge carried through close observation of the natural world. She often sits listening to tjulpu (desert birds), each of which holds its own story. Through her work, Sheena shares the beauty, sound and cultural significance of the many birds that live across the APY Lands.
