About Utopia Art Centre
falls within the umbrella of the Urapuntja Aboriginal Corporation. The Urapuntja Aboriginal Corporation is an Alyawarr and Anmatyerr Aboriginal community controlled organisation. It is a non for profit organisation, holding charity status. Located on Arlparra Country, 250kms northeast of Alice Springs, Utopia Art Centre works across 16 remote homelands. The Art Centre supports emerging and established artists, providing a space for intergenerational learning and cultural expression in the Homelands. “We’re strong. We’ve been holding this country. We’ve been waiting a long time for that power to come back. Old people gave us that power a long time ago and now we’re making strong canvas here. This is our art story now,” Sam Jampijinpa Mpetyan Dixon.
Utopia is home to some of Australia’s most celebrated Aboriginal artists, including the renowned Emily Kam Kngwarray, whose Dreamings continue to inspire generations of artists. With a strong history of artistic achievement dating back to the 1970s, Utopia Art Centre was established in 2020 to provide a safe, ethical, and community-focused space for artists to create and share their work.
Through painting and storytelling, Utopia artists celebrate their connection to Country, culture, and heritage while building sustainable opportunities to share their art with audiences nationally and internationally.

- Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair takes no responsibility for the negotiation, coordination or distribution of freight and shipping of purchases made at the online Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair. Items customers wish to purchase may require a manual quote for freight which will be charged separately.
- Shipping and freight costs are not included in the advertised purchase price unless this is stipulated at the point of purchase of the item by the Art Centre/Vendor.
- All freight and shipping must be arranged directly with the Art Centre/Vendor from where the purchase was made.
- If multiple items are purchased from different Art Centres/Vendors in the same transaction, customers must arrange shipping with each Art Centre/Vendor.
- Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair takes no responsibility for the distribution and arrival times of freight. As the Art Centres/Vendors participating in the online Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair are located in some of the most remote locations in Australia, freight services can be inconsistent.
- Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair takes no responsibility for any damaged or lost items.
Refund policy
If the work arrives damaged, we will ask you send documented images to email address provided. Work will then be required to be sent back for further assessment. If damage is of fault to the Art Centre and/or shipping provider a refund will be issued. Refunds or exchanges will not be made for change of mind.
